Toyota and Lexus Recall Information

There have been two recalls that have affected Toyota® and Lexus® owners and drivers:

More information has been released on the massive Toyota Recall.

Now included in this recall are 437,000 Prius hybrid models for brake problems. The issue is with the car’s anti-lock brake systems, according to some drivers “experiencing an inconsistent brake feel or the steady application of brakes on rough or slick road surfaces”. The problem has been blamed for several accidents, but no deaths as of this update.

Toyota® Motor Corp recalled 3.8 million vehicles to address an issue with floor mats that could cause accelerators to get stuck which could result in accidents and serious injury.

The models involved in this recall are:

  • 2007-2010 Toyota® Camry
  • 2005-2010 Toyota® Avalon
  • 2004-2009 Toyota® Prius
  • 2005-2010 Toyota® Tacoma
  • 2007-2010 Toyota® Tundra
  • 2007 – 2010 Lexus® ES350
  • 2006 – 2010 Lexus® IS 250
  • 2006 – 2010 Lexus IS 350

This specific recall pertains to the gas pedal itself which has a supposed defect that could cause it to get stuck causing the car sudden uncontrolled acceleration, which could result in crashes.

The models involved in this recall are:

  • 2009-2010 Toyota® RAV4
  • 2009-2010 Toyota® Corolla
  • 2009-2010 Toyota® Matrix
  • 2005-2010 Toyota® Avalon
  • 2010 Toyota® Highlander
  • 2007-2010 Toyota® Tundra
  • 2008-2010 Toyota® Sequoia
  • Some 2007-2010 Toyota® Camrys (please see your dealer)
