Consumer Alert: Zicam Warning Issued by FDA

Consumers should stop using Zicam nasal gel and related products because they can destroy or severely damage your sense of smell, federal health regulators said earlier this week. The warning was based on complaints received by the FDA from people and their doctors stating that following use of the products people suffered a condition called “ansomnia,” which is a loss of the sense of smell.

Even after this FDA warning, the maker of Zicam have refused to recall the drug. Nevertheless, before Zicam markets their drug again, they will have to gain FDA approval.

Hopefully the makers of Zicam recall their product and find a way to issue it again in a safe form.

If you or someone you know has suffered a loss of the sense of smell from taking Zicam, you may be entitled to monetary damages. Call us for a free consultation at 713.526.6700 or toll free at 866.483.9529.
